February 5, 2023by Hugh Daniel

Daniel Art and Yarn participating in the Beth Shalom Art Fair 2023Daniel Art and Yarn participated in the Art Fair held at Temple Beth Shalom on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at 5713 Yates Mill Pond Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606. A number of new pieces were displayed including quite a few 2″x2″ miniature art pieces using a multi-paper layered approach. These include the first in a series of small paintings of famous North Carolina lighthouses.

Other new hand-painted items on display at the art fair were a series of nature-themed eggshell dioramas just completed. Also three different hand-painted dreidels featuring fantasy characters (unicorn, witch, dragon, and mermaid), four colors of anemone (the Israel National Flower), and birds (cardinal, goldfinch, bluebird, and crow).

Miniature small paintings

The sale was very successful and I’m thankful for the new patrons who purchased art! It was fun to listen to the comments of people visiting the DAY display. Several mentioned that they had never seen eggshell dioramas before. Kids universally loved the small 2×2 paintings, dreidels, and the dioramas. I’m already making plans for many new paintings based on just listening.

If you are in the tri-cities area of Raleigh, Cary, Durham, we hope you were able to check out the art fair. There were about 20 other artists and craftpersons displaying works.
